Our story

We’d like to share a bit of our family’s health history with you.

As a teenager, Jennifer developed debilitating anxiety due to years of antibiotic use for a chronic health condition. After graduating from college, she married Christopher who had been suffering from digestive issues since childhood. When their first child was born, he developed one of the most extreme cases of colic his pediatrician had ever observed. Two years later, their daughter was born with a congenital heart defect that required open-heart surgery.

The Havel family’s journey to healing began when a friend gave them a book on nutrition. As they read it, they realized that their S.A.D. diet (Standard American Diet) was contributing to their calamitous health problems. Within weeks of embracing a ‘real foods’ diet, Jennifer’s anxiety all but disappeared, their son’s digestive woes were eliminated, and their daughter’s crippled immune system became strong enough to ward off infection. Over a decade later, Jennifer acquired a severe tick-borne illness. She’d no doubt that her whole foods diet enabled her to weather this storm. Experiencing first-hand the healing power of healthy foods has put the Havel family on a mission to support others in their quest for better health.
